Navigating LA Fleet Week: Transportation and Parking Guide
Are you ready for LA Fleet Week? With tens of thousands of people expected to attend this exciting event over Memorial Day weekend, it’s important to plan ahead for transportation and parking. Luckily, organizers have provided a variety of options to help you navigate the bustling streets surrounding the Los Angeles Harbor.
If you’re heading north to San Pedro, you can take the 5 Freeway to the northbound 405 Freeway, then merge onto the southbound 110 Freeway towards San Pedro. From there, take exit 1A to merge onto northbound State Route 47 towards Vincent Thomas Bridge/Terminal Island/Long Beach. Exit at South Harbor Boulevard and continue on that street to reach the LA Fleet Week parking lots.
For those traveling south to San Pedro, simply take the 405 Freeway south and merge onto the southbound 110 Freeway towards San Pedro. Follow the same directions as above to reach the parking lots.
Parking options abound, with free parking available at a remote lot on 22nd Street between Samson Way and Miner Street. Shuttle services will be provided to and from the event site. If you prefer to park downtown, there are several lots with varying prices and walking distances to the event site.
Shuttles and trolleys will be running throughout the day to connect visitors to parking lots, the Fleet Week Expo, ship tours, downtown stores, and restaurants. Be sure to check out the shuttle map on the LA Fleet Week website for reference.
If you’re looking for alternative transportation options, consider taking the LA Metro Silver Line to the Battleship USS Iowa Museum to save on museum admission prices. Shared ride services can also be routed to the Port of Los Angeles Administration Building, where you can walk down Fifth Street to the expo in front of Battleship Iowa.
